Creating a bio for your practice is crucial to your business' success. A good bio should be professional looking, truthful,
and available for viewing 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So many times many lawyers, and law firms alike choose
to advertise without giving much attention to the ad itself. Poor design/layout, tacky graphics, and larger than life
storylines can make the difference between a successful lawyer or firm and one starving for business.
When creating a bio, it is very important to include a color photo of the representing attorney or firm. The reason for this is
clients want to associate a face with the ones they plan on doing business with. The photo appear professional including
the environment of where it was taken, along with the party's apparel. You don't want to appear too stuffy or reserved, but not
too casual either with a friendly, sincere expression.
You might also want to list a few certifications or accolades but modestly sending the message of confidence, and security but
not as to come off as too arrogant or too knowledgeable to your potential clients.
Also, most importantly, you want to advertise honestly. The guidelines for lawyer advertisement are very strict and are monitored
very closely, in so much that even the slightest deviation can have consequential results. Keep in mind that clients would like
to think that they can trust lawyers for their expertise and assistance, and therefore expect the same in return.
